How to Join Us

6G@UT affiliate members actively engage in research with 6G@UT faculty and doctoral students, while leveraging total research expenditures in excess of several million dollars a year. Our students have gone on to be prolific inventors in industry—usually at our industrial affiliates—as well as thought leaders in academia.

Basic membership in 6G@UT includes full participation in all 6G@UT events, early access to research results, preferred access to students and faculty, and is $50,000 a year. We encourage our affiliates to also support at least one immersive directed research project with dedicated faculty and Ph.D. student(s), which are an additional $60,000 a year per project. Founding Affiliate members commit to joining the center and supporting at least two projects for three years.

To learn more about becoming an affiliate, contact 6G@UT director Jeffrey Andrews (email).

Prospective Students

Students who wish to become a part of 6G@UT are encouraged to contact the faculty closest to their interests and apply to UT Austin for their doctoral studies.
