WNCG and 6G@UT welcomed representatives from our Industrial Affiliate Program companies to the Student Research Showcase on Friday, November 10 at The University of Texas at Austin.

This annual event brings industrial affiliates to the Engineering and Education Research Center, WNCG’s home base. They meet with faculty to discuss ongoing research projects and attend an interactive poster session, where our graduate students present their research findings. Affiliates and students can also discuss internship and job opportunities.

Nearly 40 WNCG graduate students participated in the poster session this year. Presenters were afforded an hour to discuss their cutting-edge research with 60 visiting industry members and UT Austin faculty, as well as fellow WNCG graduate students.

The poster presentations were divided into two sessions based on subject matter:

  1. Communications, networks, and localization
  2. Augmented reality, video, vision, machine learning, and applications

Following the poster session, WNCG faculty Daehyeok Kim and Jeff Andrews, 6G@UT Director, delivered talks on Radio Access Networks and Machine Learning, respectively. The presentations were followed with a spirited WNCG faculty panel discussion on Artificial Intelligence, led by Alex Dimakis, and paneled by Amy Zhang, Joydeep Ghosh, Sanjay Shakkottai, and Sujay Sanghavi.

WNCG faculty and staff are looking forward to welcoming our guests back for the Student Research Showcase in 2024.
